About the Wallpaper Calculator

This calculator estimates how many rolls of wallpaper you need to cover a room's walls. Because rolls are trimmed to match repeating patterns, only a portion of each roll's total length is usable — typically about 50 sq ft per standard roll.

Formula: Wall Area = 2 × (Length + Width) × Height; Rolls Needed = (Wall Area × (1 + Waste %)) ÷ Usable Coverage per Roll

Large pattern repeats waste more material, so increase the waste allowance to 15-20% for bold prints, and always buy rolls from the same dye lot.
