About the Occupancy Rate Calculator
Occupancy rate measures the percentage of available rental space that is currently generating income, whether that's units in an apartment building or room-nights in a hotel.
Formula: Occupancy Rate = (Occupied Units ÷ Total Available Units) × 100
Property managers track occupancy rate closely alongside rent levels — a high occupancy rate at below-market rent can still mean lost revenue, so occupancy is best evaluated together with pricing, not in isolation.
