About the Triangle Area Calculator (Base and Height)
The area of any triangle is half the product of its base and the perpendicular height measured from that base to the opposite vertex — this works for every triangle, not just right triangles. The base and height each have their own unit selector, and so does the area, so you can mix units freely.
Formula: Area = (base × height) ÷ 2
For triangles where only the three side lengths are known instead of a height, use Heron's formula instead.
