About the Pallet Calculator (Boxes Per Pallet)
Efficient palletizing fits as many boxes as possible onto each layer of a pallet's footprint, then stacks as many layers as the height limit allows.
Formula: Boxes Per Layer = the larger of floor(Pallet Length ÷ Box Length) × floor(Pallet Width ÷ Box Width) or the same calculation with the box rotated 90°. Layers = floor(Max Stack Height ÷ Box Height). Total = Boxes Per Layer × Layers.
This is a simplified grid-fit estimate — it checks only two box orientations and assumes uniform layers with no interlocking pattern, so real-world palletizing software may fit slightly more using mixed orientations.
