About the Poker Odds Calculator (Outs to Probability)

An "out" is any remaining card that completes your drawing hand. Once you know how many outs you have, you can calculate the exact probability of hitting one by the next card or by the river.

Formula: One card: P = Outs ÷ Unseen Cards. Two cards: P = 1 − [((Unseen−Outs)/Unseen) × ((Unseen−Outs−1)/(Unseen−1))]

Poker players often use the quick "rule of 4 and 2" as a shortcut — multiply outs by 4 with two cards to come, or by 2 with one card to come — which approximates the exact math shown here closely enough for in-game decisions.
