The best viewing distance from a TV or projector screen depends on its diagonal size and the resolution of the content you're watching. Sitting too close makes pixels visible; sitting too far wastes detail.
Formula: Optimal Distance = Diagonal Size × Multiplier
Cinematic recommendations use roughly 1.5 times the diagonal size, standard HD viewing suggests about 2 times, and high-resolution 4K content can be viewed comfortably as close as 1 times the diagonal since pixels are much smaller.
