About the Dice Probability Calculator
When rolling multiple dice, some sums are far more likely than others because there are more combinations of individual die values that add up to them. This calculator counts every possible combination to find the exact probability of a target sum.
Formula: P(sum) = (Number of dice combinations producing the target sum) ÷ (Sides ^ Number of dice)
For two standard six-sided dice, a sum of 7 is the most likely outcome (6 out of 36 combinations, or about 16.7%), while sums of 2 or 12 are the rarest (1 out of 36 each).
