About the Venn Diagram Overlap Calculator

A two-circle Venn diagram splits two sets into three regions: items only in A, items only in B, and items in both (the intersection). This calculator derives all three regions plus the total union from the set sizes and their overlap.

Formula: Union = |A| + |B| − |A ∩ B| · Only A = |A| − |A ∩ B| · Only B = |B| − |A ∩ B|

This is the inclusion-exclusion principle in its simplest form, useful for survey overlap analysis, market segment comparisons, and any situation where two groups partially overlap.
