This calculator finds the water volume of a swimming pool, in both cubic feet and gallons, for either a rectangular or round pool shape. Volume is calculated from the pool's footprint multiplied by its average depth, since most pools slope from shallow to deep end.

Formula: Rectangular: Volume = Length × Width × Average Depth; Round: Volume = π × Radius² × Average Depth; Gallons = Cubic Feet × 7.48

Use the average of the shallow and deep end depths for a sloped pool. Knowing your pool's gallon volume is essential for dosing chemicals and sizing a pump or heater correctly.
