About the Round Pen Calculator

This calculator finds how much fencing is needed to enclose a circular pen or arena, such as a horse round pen, based on its diameter, along with the total ground area it encloses.

Formula: Circumference (fence length) = π × Diameter; Area = π × Radius²; Panels Needed = Circumference ÷ Panel Length

Standard round pen panels are commonly sold in 10ft or 12ft lengths. Round up the panel count since a circle rarely divides evenly, and remember to include a gate panel in your order.
