About the Garbage Bag Size Calculator
A trash bag needs to be wide enough to wrap around the bin's inner perimeter and long enough to reach the bottom with extra to fold over the rim.
Formula: Bag Width ≈ Bin Width + Bin Depth; Bag Length ≈ Bin Height + (0.5 × Bin Width). Bin Capacity (gal) = (Width × Depth × Height) ÷ 231.
Use the estimated capacity in gallons to match against the sizing printed on trash bag boxes (like "13 gallon" or "33 gallon" bags).
