About the Pizza Size Comparison Calculator

Pizza area grows with the square of the diameter, not in a straight line, so a pizza that looks only modestly bigger can actually contain far more pizza. A 16-inch pizza has nearly twice the area of a 12-inch pizza, even though its diameter is only a third larger.

Formula: Area = π × (Diameter ÷ 2)²; Price per Square Inch = Price ÷ Area

Enter the diameter and price of two pizzas to see their true area and cost per square inch side by side, then let the calculator declare which one is the better value. This is the same reasoning that explains why ordering one large pizza is usually cheaper per bite than two mediums.
