About the Future Value Calculator
Future value tells you what a starting balance plus a stream of regular contributions will grow to, given an assumed rate of return, by combining lump-sum compounding with the future value of an annuity.
Formula: FV = PV(1 + r)n + PMT × [((1 + r)n − 1) ÷ r], where r is the monthly rate and n is the number of months.
This is the same math behind retirement and savings projections — small, consistent monthly contributions compound significantly over long time horizons.
