About the Present Value Calculator
Present value answers the question "how much would I need today to end up with a certain amount in the future?" It reflects the time value of money — a dollar today is worth more than a dollar received later.
Formula: PV = FV ÷ (1 + r)n, where r is the discount rate per period and n is the number of periods.
