About the GWA Calculator (Philippine Grading Scale)

The General Weighted Average (GWA) is the standard academic scale used across Philippine schools and universities, typically running from 1.0 (excellent) down to 5.0 (failing) — the reverse direction of a US 4.0 GPA scale.

Formula: GWA = Σ(Grade × Units) ÷ Σ(Units)

Enter each subject as its grade and unit (credit) load, one per line. Because lower numbers are better on this scale, a smaller GWA reflects stronger academic performance, and honors cutoffs (such as Latin honors) are usually defined as a maximum GWA rather than a minimum.
