About the Impact Factor Calculator
A journal's impact factor is a widely used measure of how frequently its articles are cited elsewhere in academic literature. It is typically calculated over a two-year window: citations received in a given year to articles published in the two preceding years, divided by the number of citable articles published in those two years.
Formula: Impact Factor = Total Citations ÷ Number of Citable Articles Published
A higher impact factor generally suggests a journal's articles are more heavily referenced by other researchers, though it varies enormously by field and should not be used alone to judge the quality of an individual paper or researcher.
