About the Mortar Calculator
This calculator estimates how much mortar you need to lay a given number of bricks or concrete blocks, using typical mortar-per-unit rules of thumb, then converts that volume into bags of pre-blended mortar mix.
Formula: Mortar Volume = Quantity × Mortar per Unit × (1 + Waste %); Bags Needed = Mortar Volume ÷ 0.45 (an 80 lb bag of mortar mix yields about 0.45 cu ft)
