About the Paver Calculator

This calculator finds how many individual pavers you need to cover a patio, walkway or driveway, based on the total area and the face size of the paver unit you've selected.

Formula: Patio Area = Length × Width; Paver Area (sq ft) = (Paver Length × Paver Width) ÷ 144; Pavers Needed = (Patio Area × (1 + Waste %)) ÷ Paver Area

Add extra waste for curved borders, running-bond patterns or herringbone layouts, which require more cut pieces than a simple grid. Don't forget to budget separately for the sand and gravel base beneath the pavers.
