About the Steel Rebar Weight Calculator

This calculator finds the total weight of steel reinforcing bar (rebar) using the standard ASTM weight-per-foot values published for each bar size, multiplied by cut length and the number of bars.

Formula: Weight per Bar = Weight per Foot (by size) × Length; Total Weight = Weight per Bar × Quantity

Rebar size numbers correspond to the bar's diameter in eighths of an inch — a #4 bar is 4/8in (1/2in) in diameter. Knowing total tonnage helps with delivery scheduling and comparing supplier pricing, which is often quoted per ton.
