About the Polynomial Division Calculator

Polynomial long division works just like long division with numbers: repeatedly divide the leading term of the remaining polynomial by the leading term of the divisor, multiply back, and subtract, until the remainder's degree is smaller than the divisor's.

Formula: Dividend = Divisor × Quotient + Remainder

Enter each polynomial's coefficients from the highest degree term down to the constant, separated by commas. This is the general method — for dividing by a simple factor (x − c), synthetic division is faster.
