About the Rational Zeros Calculator

The Rational Root Theorem says that any rational zero of a polynomial with integer coefficients must be a fraction p/q, where p is a factor of the constant term and q is a factor of the leading coefficient.

Formula: possible rational zeros = ±(factors of constant term) ÷ (factors of leading coefficient)

This produces a finite list of candidates that can each be tested (for example with synthetic division) to find the polynomial's actual rational roots.
